Plan an Event Dinner Tour at Shaw Nature Reserve Gather 8 to 10 friends together and schedule an evening for a dinner tour of the Nature Reserve. We will travel by the wilderness wagon (see picture on a neighboring page) for this progressive dinner. Hors d’oeuvres are in the Whitmire Wildflower Garden, dinner at sunset at the Crescent Knoll Overlook and dessert is by candlelight on the boardwalk of the wetland. This can be a special evening to share with loved ones or friends. Shaw Nature Reserve has an open-air wagon (with a canopy roof) which holds a maximum of 28 people. A van pulls the wagon on a three mile gravel road as a naturalist/guide describes SNR's history, what is in bloom, the Pinetum conifer collection, the tallgrass prairie, wildlife, and wetlands. The tour takes just under one hour. Have your wedding in the romantic setting of Pinetum Lake. SNR is a natural choice for those who desire an outdoor setting for their ceremony.
