Sale is free to the public

The Nature Reserve and several nurseries from throughout the area will offer hundreds of varieties of annual and perennial wildflowers, ferns, trees and shrubs to use in home landscaping and to attract wildlife. The sale will feature the showiest and hardiest native plants for sun or shade, including purple coneflower, butterfly milkweed, blazing star, dwarf crested iris, cardinal flower, compass plant, wild phlox, ostrich fern, bottle-brush buckeye, fringe tree and short-leaf pine.   There will also be birdhouses, artwork, and books for sale.

Plants will be for sale from Shaw Nature Reserve, Wild Ones, Hamilton Seeds and Wildflowers, Missouri Wildflowers Nursery, Whiskey Creek Farm, Andys Native Plants, Yellow Wood Farms, Pan’s Garden, Prairie Hill Farm, and Forest Keeling Nursery.  Only cash or check will be accepted.  Please pay each vendor separately.

MISSOURI  NATIVE SEED AND PLANTS of the prairie, wetland, woodland, and savanna will also be available. All plants sold will be nursery propagated (i.e., not wild harvested).

DIRECTIONS:

Gray Summit is about 30 miles west of St. Louis. Take the Gray Summit exit (#253, second exit west of six flags) off Interstate 44. Follow signs to Shaw Nature Reserve and special signs leading to the Spring Wildflower Sale.

Admission to the sale is free. Signs will direct visitors to a special entrance on the western boundary of the Nature Reserve, with plenty of free parking.
