Wild Ones Native Landscaping Grant

Who should apply for this grant?

  • Schools, nature centers and other non-profit places of learning including houses of worship and government owned facilities with a site available for this type of stewardship project.

What kind of projects are appropriate?

  • The design, establishment and maintenance of a native plant community such as prairie, woodland, wetland etc. in an educational setting such as an outdoor classroom.
  • Developing and maintaining an interpretive trail landscaped with native plant communities.
  • Developing a wetland area to study the effect of native vegetation on water quality improvement.

Grow Native Lanscape Challenge

Grow Native!, Shaw Nature Reserve and Wild Ones Natural Landscapers will showcase landscaping with native plants.

One lucky homeowner will be chosen each year for the native landscape makeover. The sponsors will provide the services of a professional native landscape designer and volunteers to install the landscape. The sponsors also will provide up to $1,500 worth of native plants and other landscape materials. The homeowner will prepare the site for planting. Winner is chosen from among applicants.
